About Progressive Pours
When The Urban Grape first opened its doors in 2010, owners TJ and Hadley Douglas held Sunday night cocktail parties where they paired wine with food as a way to personally teach customers about The Progressive Scale. They started calling these fun shindigs “Urban Affairs” — a cute play on words.
Before too long, customers started asking if the team could hold events like these at their own offices and venues—and while we were at it could we also do their gifting? Over the years, a booming part of the business was born and eventually became Progressive Pours by Urban Grape, as it’s known today.
The Urban Grape promise is to make wine fun and approachable, while also highlighting BIPOC winemakers, women in wine, and our proprietary Progressive Scale - a refreshingly modern way to learn about and shop for wine.
